A person wanted to hear back from other SEO marketers in a large online discussion community. They shared their favorite SEO tutorials and learning sites in order of preference. Their list was:
Stupid Simple SEO course (available for a fee) Pro Blogger Bundle course (available for a fee) Ahrefs Blog and Youtube (available for free) Neil Patel Blog and Youtube (available for free) Moz Blog (available for free)
This person has also heard good things about the On-Page SEO by Kyle Roof and a white paper called White Hat SEO, which is also by Kyle Roof. They have also seen recommendations for Detailed SEO Blueprint by Glen Allsopp, 90 Day SEO by Matthew Woodward, The Affiliate Lab by Matt Diggity, Authority Hacker website, the Easy on-page SEO website, a website called Traffic Transformation and the Easy backlinks ebook. This person also said that Google's guidelines are of course the most important ones to watch.
The feedback this person got included not paying for any SEO resources. The same person who commented that also said that doing actual work on websites and using all of the available free resources to check if they did the right thing are two essential steps to getting better at SEO. They added that most SEO is learned by doing. They remarked that everybody learns SEO differently, and one person may prefer an eBook while the other prefers a YouTube video.
Several people agreed that experience is important, but it is also a slow way to learn. For a beginner, using proven guidelines will be a big help. Some people said that after using free resources, the paid lessons can deliver a good return on investment. A few people had additional recommendations for sites, including Back Linko. Others added Coursera's course called SEO Specialization through UC-Boulder by instructor Rebekah May.
A couple of people wondered what the person gets out of a paid course. They specifically wanted to know if the paid courses yield any kind of certification or course credit at a college. Most of them do not; instead, the funds go to the instructor. For more information click here https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/ldvr0f/listthebestseoandbloggingresources_youve/.
